Excerpt:
Catapulted forward by the hurrying tide, Claudius’s ship now sailed upon the phantasm of a massive whale. The sleek vessel hung momentarily on the edge of the watery precipice of white light, then slipped straight down the monster’s wide-open chasm…
The massive leviathans crooned, their haunting voices echoing across the waters. The air melted where the white-edged waves lapped peacefully against the shore. A glowing, ethereal passageway opened before the girls.
The cool room grew cold, horribly cold. In the muted light, an ethereal form was materializing right before Clara’s eyes. It slowly took the shape of a slender woman dressed in a silken gown of forest green.
A ray of light beamed down from between the ever-moving shapeless clouds. Glimmering beneath this glowing light, Aomar rose tall upon his unicorn mount. “Let’s vanquish this monstrous rabble now and end this!” he called, mustering his troops.
INTERVIEW
Do you ever wish you were someone else? Who?
I wish I were my little black Scottie, Galadriel, of course. She’s extremely spoiled, very sweet, and she gets to sleep most of the day. She is adorable with her long beard and fur skirt. Take her for a stroll in town…everyone compliments her as she prances about on short legs, her coal black eyes doting onadmirers through bushy brows. What could be better than that!
Who is the last person you hugged?
The last person I hugged was Bradley Cooper… Oops! That was only a dream. Actually, the last person I hugged was my husband.
What are you reading now?
Coraline by Neil Gaiman… A classic tale about a little girl who steps through a door in her home, to find another home, similar to hers, but with another mother and another father. These strange new parents don’t want to ever let her go. The courageous girl must use all her courage and wit in order to return back to her normal life.
How do you come up with the titles to your books?
I kept the title to my book short as suggested by mydiligent, hawk-eyed editor. Of course, the title also had to do something with the story. My original title for my novel was The Master, The Captain, The Warlock, and The Warrior, however this was as long as a flight to the moon. I thereforeshortened the title to The Warlock’s Curse, as the story is about twin sisters going on a perilous journey to remove an ancient curse.

A monkey, two Siamese cats, dancing whales… Wait! This actually is a really good question. I’ve always thought that if my book were made into a movie, I’d like it to be cast by unknown actors with loads of talent. It gets tiring to see the same people over and overagain in films. I believe in giving someone new a chance.

Fascinated by the works of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, C.B. Oresky began writing her own fantasy novel, The Warlock’s Curse, after dreaming of being whisked off to an alien realm. Besides her debut novel, she has seen four of her short stories published in a small, national literary press: Conceit Magazine. When she’s not writing, she can be found wandering through the woods, dancing flamenco, or planting flowers in her garden. Thank you for sharing your interview, bio and book details, I think that it is awesome that you would prefer to see talented new actors/actresses play the roles if your book was made into a movie. My question for you is if given the choice, would you like to see The Warlock’s Curse made into a movie or an animated film? If it’s animated, you could totally have a monkey, two Siamese cats, dancing whales star in it!
